Forest Girl OOTD

A forest girl I'd love to be
To live among the mountains and trees
Oh what a dream to befriend the fox and deer
And have all of nature so beautifully near.

I was lucky enough to find these adorable socks at a booth in the university. The price was too good to pass by ($7 for each). I think they would be perfect for a forest girl or mori kei outfit. Speaking of forest fashion, below is an ootd video and some more detail about the socks.

Mod Cloth Haul/Review

After years of simply browsing, I finally did my first mod cloth haul! Modcloth.com is a online shop that features clothes, accessories and home items that are vintage inspired. Being a girl who loves 50's and 60's style, the site always draws me back to look at what they have in stock. However, I've always found their things a little pricey (unless they have a huge sale.) But a particular item, made me decide to go from browser to buyer and I managed to get all the items for less than their original price. Checkout the video above to learn more about my shopping experience and the items I purchased.

Nail polish Haul/Review From GOSH

I finally got around to trying some GOSH cosmetics thanks to a promotion courtesy of Shopper's Drugmart. The deal was if you buy $25 worth of GOSH products, you got free mascara. I opted for nail polish. Below is a review of the haul.

Some budget friendly items

Over the past couple months, I've collected some cute, fun, and cherishable items...all within a good price range.

The fox mask comes from Urban Outfitters and the main reason for the purchase is so I can take "interesting" outfit photos. It wasn't a Halloween purchase, though the mask would work great for a costume. It was 10.50 and though the price is low and it is a fun accessory IT IS VERY CHEAPLY MADE. It came cracked out of the package. It is hard to see out of the eye holes and it's a bit itchy. I don't hate it. But I wouldn't be quick to recommend it.

Art reader glasses: these also came from Urban Outfitters and they are tre chic. At first I felt like a complete geek in them, but they grew on me and are fun way to switch up your look. They are easy to see out of and for a little over 4 dollars they are great for a budget seeker.

Forever Elizabeth is my new favorite perfume. The scent...the take me away to an old Hollywood film as a lead actress scent. Dreamy. I am smitten by it. It is mild but lasts, works for day and night (though it is recommended for casual wear), and comes in a beautiful bottle. I am not fragrance fanatic. I usually turn away from perfumes, but this one has made me lover of perfumes once again. I feel it embodies Elizabeth Taylor and all the sophistication and Hollywood glamor that represents her. You can find it for less at frangrancex.com.

The next items come from Alloy.com. If you have narrow feet like me, I recommend the mika pink ballet flats. They are so comfortable and only $9.99! Alloy.com has some great inexpensive accessories like the liesel tiered necklace in the picture which was only 4.99. And finally, a last minuet add on, because I want to start adding more graphic tees to my wardrobe, was my Go Bay side tee, for only 7 dollars. The one shown in the photo is an extra small and it still feels loose, which I like.

Super Kawaii Haul! These items are too cute to handle

I love kawaii cute items, so I was so excited when my bestie got me all this cute stuff while on vacation! Thank You!!! In this kawaii haul are candies, stationary, bath stuff and beauty items. I won't show everything, but I will show a few of my favorite items that put an instant smile on my face ^.^

This is perhaps my favorite item (though I love them all). It's a notebook, but it is so cute and so me. The girls are adorable and I love how it's called "Happy Girl" It even has this super cute fashion game inside where you can dress up each girl character in different outfits. It's so perfectly cute, I can't handle it and something I would have picked for myself!

These candies were so good! They are hard candies that taste like pop. They even fizz in your mouth! I love the packaging. The big bold colorful letters definitely get my attention and goes with the whole "happiness" theme.

I have not used this product yet, but it is a bathbomb with a secret inside! I cannot wait to try it out and see what's inside and what it smells like. But the packaging alone makes me so happy. I mean it's called happy dolphin. How can you not smile!

This was such a wonderful surprise and you are a sweetheart for getting me all these lovely kawaii cute items!

Alloy.com haul and review

Buying shoes online is always nerve racking for me, but when they come at such an affordable price it's hard to not take the risk. I recently discovered Alloy.com, a retail website that sells both women's and men's apparel. The clothes don't really do it for me, but the shoes are cute. When on sale, you can find some nice items for very reasonable prices. I took the plunge and bought 2 pairs of shoes: some lace black flats and some black platform heels. I figured since it was my first time purchasing from there I would not do a crazy shopping spree.

The Good:

Alloy.com has well priced items. Both my shoes came up to 21.23 before shipping. I'd be thrilled to get one shoe for that on sale!  Even before sale prices, Alloy.com's items are reasonable. They also do frequent promos allowing you to get even more off.

Shipping did not take long. In Canada, everything takes forever to arrive. 10 days for an item to ship is considered fast. Alloy did not give me a tracking number, but the estimated date was correct.

The items are nice. While they are not the best quality, they are fine for the price. They are comfortable and they look cute with outfits. The heels have a rubber grip which makes it easier to walk in and the flats are nicely padded.

The bad:

The biggest complaint I have is the shipping prices for international countries. If you are in the States shipping is not outrageous and they often have promos for free shipping. Sadly, these promos do not apply to locations outside the U.S.A and the price of shipping is steep. For my two items shipping was 21.95. That's more than what I paid for my merchandise! I would highly suggest doing a bulk or group buy in order to make the shipping worth it.

Overall: For their ease of shopping and great prices I will definitely shop there again and would recommend it to others. In the future, I'll purchase a greater quantity of items so my shipping fees balance out with the item fees.

Yesstyle Haul/Review. Pic Heavy.

Chictopia gave me a promocode for yesstyle.ca, and seeing as how I always wanted to buy items from there, I went on a shopping spree buying practically a new wardrobe from the site. My items came within about 2 weeks. The video below shows an unboxing of the items the day I recieved the package.

My experience with yesstyle was a pleasant one. All the items were true to their description. I was in fact surprised by how nice they looked in person and on. The only con (mostly due to my error) was yesstyle sent me two of the exact same belt. My invoice showed I ordered two, but I don't recall seeing two in my cart before my checkout. I know I had wanted another belt, but instead I recieved two of the same belt.

All my items fit well. Considering that mostly everything I bought was described as onesize, I was a bit nervous, but they all fit. I have tried to include links to all the items in the haul but everything was bought on sale so some of them may be sold out.

Dolman Sleeve Knit Top
This was a set piece that came with a necklace. It is supposed to be baggy and is longer than expected. It can be worn as a mini dress.

Set: Shorts+Belt+Tights

I love this set piece. I was really nervous it would not fit but the elastic on the shorts makes it a good fit for those small-medium. The tights are warm and are better quality than more expensive tights I've bought. The belt is cheap and does not seem like it would last long, but it works with the set.

Inset Lace Top Chiffon Dress
Very sheer, but pretty non the less, this dress is chiffon dress with a lace top sewn in. This picture distorts the color, but in person it is more of a light peachy pink.

Braided Buckle Elasticized Belt
This is the belt I recieved two of. I like it, but I wish I had caught that there were two in my cart.

Girl Print Pullover

This is possibly my favorite item. It is very warm and I love the pockets on the side.

Wool Blend Miniskirt
Set: Drop Shoulder Top + Scarf
The scarf on this top can be removed. This lets you wear it without a scarf, or add your own. I love the skirt and was pleasantly surprised to find it wasn't as boxy as the photo on yesstyle appeared.

Red Buckled Twist Lock Satchel
This bag is not made to last, but it is cute and I love the velvet feeling material combined with with the faux leather. The cloth material seems as if it would hold up, but the leather part is very cheap feeling and looking. While it looks medium sized, it carries a lot. My entire yesstyle haul fits in it! :)

A shopping we will go

You'd think I'd be all shopped out with all the shopping I did in December, but with all the sales and promos being in my path it's no wonder I've been filling my cart, online and off with lovlies. I've been trying my best to stay within budget despite my sudden shopping surge, and I've been paying attention, making sure to buy things I will cherish for quite some time, or need badly.

Because I've been stung by shopping bee, I'll most likely be doing a few posts similar to this where I showcase (show off?) items I've purchased.

The video shows and describes the items I bought for this paticular haul. One place I will be shopping more at are local asian shops. They always have cute items that suit my taste.
