Feeling A Little Austen
While in Banff, my friends and I decided to buy hats from one of the local shops. I wish I could remember the brand for my hat, but etsy.com sells similar styles. It reminds me of a bonnet from a Jane Austen Book. It does a great job of keeping the sun out.
I had been looking for a hat just like this all summer long, but the ones on etsy were a little out of my price range. This one was $27, which was more reasonable for my budget.
Once home, my family and I went thrifting where I found a lantern: another item I've always wanted.
I feel I should curl up with a cup of tea, while I read the Austen Collection.

Oops, these aren't for eating
I mistook these for real cookies, but they're actually magnets. These tasty looking handmade cuties are from Scrumptious Doodle, an etsy shop that specializes in handmade minature food jewlery. These look good enough to eat, but I'm kind of glad they aren't because that means I can enjoy just looking at them.

Pastel Rainbow Kawaii Kitty Kindle Cover
I don't own a kindle fire, but this cover is just about the cutest cover I've seen. One could use it to carry other items such as a small book, but even just to look at puts a smile on my face. I especially love that it's rainbow. This kawaii kity cover comes from an etsy store called Sugar Junkie Shop, which offers a colorful array of cute handmade items, from bright colored hair bows, to knitted cake rings.

Asos makes me wish it was summer
The beauty of end of season sales are the great deals, but the down side is waiting through all those month to wear the items. I recently got an adorable peplum playsuit from asos.com that makes me wish I was in warmer climates. I don't usually like the peplum style, but this one was so cute I could not resit.
In addition the skirt, I also got a horse chess piece ring. This at least I can wear throughout the year. Both were a great price. The ring is heavier than I expected and the playsuit is quite short, so I'll have to wear it perhaps a bit closer to home. To Canadian shoppers, asos.com does charge custom fees at the door so beware.

Some budget friendly items
Over the past couple months, I've collected some cute, fun, and cherishable items...all within a good price range.
The fox mask comes from Urban Outfitters and the main reason for the purchase is so I can take "interesting" outfit photos. It wasn't a Halloween purchase, though the mask would work great for a costume. It was 10.50 and though the price is low and it is a fun accessory IT IS VERY CHEAPLY MADE. It came cracked out of the package. It is hard to see out of the eye holes and it's a bit itchy. I don't hate it. But I wouldn't be quick to recommend it.
Art reader glasses: these also came from Urban Outfitters and they are tre chic. At first I felt like a complete geek in them, but they grew on me and are fun way to switch up your look. They are easy to see out of and for a little over 4 dollars they are great for a budget seeker.
Forever Elizabeth is my new favorite perfume. The scent...the take me away to an old Hollywood film as a lead actress scent. Dreamy. I am smitten by it. It is mild but lasts, works for day and night (though it is recommended for casual wear), and comes in a beautiful bottle. I am not fragrance fanatic. I usually turn away from perfumes, but this one has made me lover of perfumes once again. I feel it embodies Elizabeth Taylor and all the sophistication and Hollywood glamor that represents her. You can find it for less at frangrancex.com.
The next items come from Alloy.com. If you have narrow feet like me, I recommend the mika pink ballet flats. They are so comfortable and only $9.99! Alloy.com has some great inexpensive accessories like the liesel tiered necklace in the picture which was only 4.99. And finally, a last minuet add on, because I want to start adding more graphic tees to my wardrobe, was my Go Bay side tee, for only 7 dollars. The one shown in the photo is an extra small and it still feels loose, which I like.

Tuesday Treasures
What a charming summer it's been--picnics, beautiful rainstorms, sweets and the sweetness of friends. I will miss it.
I wanted to share a few delights I recently received from near and far this summer.
Letter from my pen pal
Whenever I see something in the mail, handwritten and well thought out, I grin--inside and out. My pen pal from Algeria sent me not only a lovely letter, but a seashell and treasures from her life as well. This is just one of the reason why I love having a penpal. It's like having someone travel to you with their heart. She used a calender as an envelope and I think this is a very clever and stylish idea, one that I will be borrowing. Thank you again for the wonderful letter.
Cutest little cupcakes
Yesterday, while I was out Downtown, I stumbled upon a cupcake shoppe called Buttercream cupcakes that has some deliciously cute cupcakes. The flavors here are french vanilla (purple frosting), strawberry shortcake (pink frosting) and red velvet (white frosting). They are rich, and full of flavor. Though I will admit they are pricey. This batch was over $9.00
Accessories and deals
BCBG had a promotion where if you tried on a pair of jeans you got $10 off your purchase of anything in the store. That's how this cute rabbit ring end up coming home with me. Say hello to Mr. Hello. His expression is bit bewildered but I think he's very cute. He's also quite large. I have long finger and Mr.hello takes a fair bit of room on them and he has some weight to him. He's not heavy, but you do notice him there the way you would with a cocktail ring.

Today is a special day, but tomorrow is even more special because it is leap day and I love the 29th of February. It reminds me of my childhood and how it was Pochacco's birthday (a character created by saniro) I always wanted my birthday to be on that day simply because of how exciting it would feel to wait 4 years before you could celebrate your true birthday. Happy birthday to all the leapers, I hope your day is blessed.

A Stylish Soul
When I shop it isn't to be an icon of beauty, or wow passer byers. I simply don't care about a lot of worldly goods other people do. I like simplicity. I'm more found of sun sets than gem stones.
I live in the world, yes. I go out and do what other girls do. I like things, looking at things, buying things, but I don't seek a deep connection with these things.
I don't want to be first in line for any gadget. I don't feel like a better person if people approve of the stuff I own. It's just stuff. My clothes, shoes, bag are just stuff. I'm starting to feel like I have too much stuff.
Yet I keep shopping.
What is the reason for this? It's what humans do I guess. But it's not what spirits do.
It's the spirit part of me that I value the most. That is what I want to look good. If I am too be really beautiful, truly stylish, then I should think more of the spirit than the body.
The spirit isn't dressed in fine jewels, but fine feelings such as peace, love and humility. The spirit doesn't seek out the latest trends, but instead the balance and oneness felt by giving yourself to everything beyond earthly desire.
I don't value my skirts; they don't bring peace or joy. I value my soul. I value God. I value what no shop on earth can sell me.

Spring time feels so near. The warmth and changes spring brings, makes all my winter blues melt away. I cannot wait to wear pretty spring dresses, and flats instead of boots.

Interview with esty shop liloshop
Back in spring I featured a sweet looking charm bracelet from liloshop. Recently, I had the great opportunity to interview the owner of the shop Anna, and got a chance to learn what else this lovely lady does and what her plans with liloshop are.
Tell me a bit about yourself:
My name is Anna and I live, study and work in Vienna, Austria.
Apart from creating what else do you do?
I´m studying theatre, film & media sciences and I'm writing these days my master thesis about fashion videos “the shift from still to moving image. I’m also part of the organizing team of the Vienna fashioncamp (fashioncampvienna.blogspot.com/) which will take place on the 10th of September and is a one-day conference about the future of fashion, the change of communication, market and trend spreading.
What are your most cherished handmade items?
That´s a tough question! self-made or shopped? There are so many, but i think my vamoose sailor knot bracelett (hpunktanna.com/2010/05/26/sailor-knot/) and my grey knitted hat (hpunktanna.com/2009/10/14/shop-update/).
Where do you get your inspirations?
I love film noir movies and vintage photographies, through blogging i met so many talented people, they are also very inspiring to me!
What is your favorite summer look?
There is no special summer look I prefer, I love stripes, but not only in the summertime, but actually I got really addicted to the colour mint. Since the last 4-5 years mint is my must-have. I am also posting a mint thing of the day (hpunktanna.com/tag/mint-thing-of-the-day/) feature since June.
Where are your 3 of your favorite places to shop?
etsy, Austrian pop up stores and flea markets, I don´t like these big online shops.
What can you be found doing on a Saturday afternoon?
Thrifting or blogging ;)
How did you find out about etsy and what made you decide selling there?
The first time I heard about etsy, was probably on one of the diy blogs I read two years ago (saidos da concha saidosdaconcha.blogspot.com/). etsy is very user friendly and I really like the design of the surface and the network behind the shop.
How have your products changed since you started creating?
At the beginning I sold only handmade products, but in the last months I also started selling vintage clothes. I love thrift stores!
What are your future plans with liloshop?
I think I will concentrate on accessoires and I hope I will have more time for my handmade projects.

French Flower Bouquet Postcard Collage Glass Pendant Necklace
This french flower bouquet postcard collage glass pendant from dahliagardener is all loveliness. It would make such a lovely accessory to add to a pretty white lace summer dress. dahliagardener has many of these cute pendants but I have to say this one is my favorite, there's something timely about it. Just looking at it makes me want to lay in a field of wild flowers and dream.

Satine
One of my all time favorite accessories are hats. They can pull together a look or completely change it. I suppose one could call me a hat collector and I would love to add this mini top hat/fascinator to my collection. The print is bold but classic with a brocade theme. And I adore the added touch of the feather. This particular hat comes from Little Penny Lane, an etsy shop that offers sweet playful beauties such as this piece.

letter A charm bracelet
I have a strange form of narcissism; I love my name. I love it to such an embarrassing point that even see the first letter of my name gets me giddy. So to no surprise of mine, when I saw this charm bracelet I felt a need to posses it. I haven't bought it, but there is that kick in me to do so each time I see it. The charm bracelet comes from liloshop It is an online shop hosted by etsy that sells very lovely items like the charm bracelet. The bracelet is very affordable so I think I may have to feed my ego and buy it.

Handmade Heart Fine Silver Charm Necklace
Love and esteem are the first principles of friendship; it is always imperfect if either of these two are wanting.
-Eustace Budgell
That's the quote that came to mine when I saw this lovely charm necklace. The heart is imperfect but it is also so perfect. This would be a nice gift to give to someone you love: a friend, lover, parent. As if to say "my heart is imperfect but it strives to love you perfectly."
The necklace comes from Candice64 from etsy. Her shop offers numerous cute romantic-feeling items.

Pistachio Green Ovals Stretchy Interchangeable Watch Band
I'll be green with envy towards the owner of this watch. This watch comes from BlackBrookShop
on etsy and it is offered in a variety of colors. I saw the green and thought it was unique and underused as far as watches go. It's a cute accessory and practical accessory, something to help keep you on time in a stylish manner. I know most of us rely on our cellphones, I'm guilty of that. My watches rarely hold the right time but that doesn't mean this can't make for a lovely little bracelet.
It sells for 7.00 on BlackBrookShop

Rositas--bling bling Cupcake Lampwork glass earrings
This beautiful pair of earrings come from elsyrene, a shop on etsy.com. It was the cupcake shape that first caught my attention, because I adore the sweetness which is a cupcake. But more than just cute, these earrings are pretty with the pink patterns and pink gem topping of the cupcake. Elsy really took her time with these beauties and it shows. They would look ever so charming with a cream chiffon dress.
