I heart these overalls

We made friends with the lilies, letting them be

 Friends simply want friends to be happy. 

For a while now, I wanted a pair of skinny jean overalls. This was easier said than done, as most were way out of my price range. But early this year, I found a pair on Aliexpress that fit my needs. The paticular seller I bought them from is no longer selling them, but searching "skinny denim overalls women" should turn them up. These were only $17.00  and I love them. They have a heart shaped pocket on the front, and embroidered hearts on the back pockets. While I was hoping for them to be a little more form fitting, I like the baggy roomy feel. They are super confortable, and I know I'll be wearing them for many suns and moons. The top is also from Aliexpress.com.

The trials of Tiffany Trott

I started reading this book while in the hospital and it turned out to be a humours destraction from my ailment. It's a bit like Bridget Jones' Diary (if you've ever read/seen it you'll know what I mean) and loaded with british humour. While it's not the most deep or provoking book, it's a good light read for the girly girl. Tiffany Trott is your typical London career woman, looking to settle down, and having very little luck at it. The author has a way of bringing all the characters to life to the point where I could recognize some of them in my own life. From her bad breathed dates, to her single friends who try to help, everyone seems alive as if they stepped out of the book and conversing with directly. It's a good book for a lazy sunday afternoon.

I have a red hardcover journal that I bought from a dollar store. It is different from this one, and I do love writing in it. But oh la la, look at how cute this journal is. It's so simple, and yet it looks as if it's calling out to someone to write some beautiful thoughts in it.

Lindt Gold Bunny Chocolates




The day after Easter, my mom bought this box of chocolates. I'm not chocolate fan, but the packaging of this box screams spring! It looks so vintage and sweet. I haven't seen a box of chocolate this cute in a long time. Even the flower, egg, and bunny shaped chocolate are adorable.

Sounds of Spring

I hear the sounds of spring outside my window. The bees as they buzz hurridly to befriend another flower. The cry of flowers as they burst from the earth. The mellow wind brushing against the soft growing grass and the sound that moves me most...the rain--from its gentle tapping showers to its nearly wrathful pelts during storms. I listen. I get soaked in the hums, tweets, buzzes and dramtic thundering booms of spring. Even in the most quiet room, the world is singing a melody.

Thrifting my way to spring

Snow continues to fall from the heavens. While others speak of sunny skies and chirps from the morning robin, I'm still waiting for the weather to grant me some warmth. As I wait for spring to truly arrive here in my city, I thrift. I'm hoping mother nature will get the hint if I keep filling my drawers with springtime wear.

There are a number of thrift shops where I live, but there is one in particular that I think about first when I need something. These are my most recent purchases from there. I don't remember the exact price of the items, but I know that none of the items cost more than $5.00.

I take this quote to heart and try to make it part of my life. 

We are so full of want. So much so that we forget what we genuinely and deeply need. More so, we forget that we need so little.

I feel a need to want less. I am inspired to unload, detach and renouce claim over my vain desires...or at least remind myself to.

Spring Buds

 It is winter all around me, but my heart is full of Spring. There are green budding boughs where song birds perch, and a flower blossoming in my heart. I will sing along with the song birds, and plant more seeds of cheer as I wait for my outer garden to mimic my inner. Hurry Spring; the ladybugs and buzzing bees are waiting to be released from the hidden Spring nest I placed them and out into the world to be marveled.

Spring time feels so near. The warmth and changes spring brings, makes all my winter blues melt away. I cannot wait to wear pretty spring dresses, and flats instead of boots. 

Le printemps se sent si proche. La chaleur et les changements printemps apporte, rend tous les bleus mon hiver fondre. Je ne peux pas attendre pour porter des robes de printemps joli, et des chaussures plutôt que des bottes.

My Soul's Spring

The winds have blown in and blew open the shutters to my heart. Cold and uninvited, it swirled about and swept away feelings. It made a mess and left. The wind blew out the summer in my heart and blew in a frightful winter that I fear will leave me frozen.

The only thing I managed to keep safe from the icy breeze that has entered was my soul, given to me by hands so warm that nothing can freeze it. There you will find an eternal spring that cannot be put under winter's slumber.

If the cold winds must blow, at least bless my soul with an ever blooming spring to keep me safe when all else are freezing.
